SAT  / PSAT Paper-and-Pencil Class

Course Times: Monday (6/5/2022) through Thursday (6/8/2022) @ 9:30 am to Noon AND Friday (6/09/2022) @ 9:30 am to 11:00 am

Location: Near the intersection of State Road 434 and Edgemon in Winter Springs [exact address will be provided upon completion of registration and payment]

Class Description: This series of classes is suitable for students seeking to establish a firm foundation of PSAT and SAT subject matter and strategies. The curriculum includes fundamental information about the subject matter of all subsections of the SAT, strategies for specific types of questions, and general test taking tips. 

 

Target Audience: Students preparing for the PAPER AND PENCIL test. This targets the entire Class of 2024 and members of the Class of 2025 who aim to get their final SAT score on the current version of the test and to avoid the Digital SAT entirely. The October SAT School Day test and Saturday administrations through 12/2/2023 will be in the paper-and-pencil format.

I do not currently know whether the College Board will allow districts like Seminole County Public Schools to continue administering the PSAT in a paper-and-pencil format. I do know that SCPS wants to do so because high schools throughout the county cannot currently provide every student with a computer or tablet upon which to test. I will keep you updated as I find out more.

I currently do not know enough about the Digital PSAT/SAT to post class offerings targeting this test. I aim to continue my investigation into this format, and I expect that I will offer a class this summer targeting the Digital format.

Class Features:

Limited Size: Maximum eight students.

Homework Rebates: Students earn $5 for each session after the first for arriving on time with all of their class materials and for completing the previous session's homework as assigned. For the four homework assignments, that adds up to $20, bringing the effective cost of the class down to $379.
